Songs that Remind Me of Family

Never Alone by Lady Antebellum is a song that reminds me a lot of this past year.  Whenever I was feeling homesick, or when my entire family was in Tennessee with my aunt and I was stuck at school, I would listen to this.  It reminds me that, no matter how far away I am, I can always count on my family.  Their love has no boundaries, and even when I am at my lowest point, there are people out there thinking about me and wishing me the best.

My Little Girl by Tim McGraw reminds me a lot of my relationship with my dad.  I know that my dad has had an extremely difficult time letting his only daughter, let alone his only kid, grow up.  Him and I used to bicker all the time about how I was no longer a child.  Being over six hours away from me this year has definitely taken a toll on him.  When I was little, he used to make me promise I’d always sit on his lap, and I know that sometimes when he looks at me he still sees the little girl that ran up and jumped on him whenever he got home from work.

Because you Loved me by Celine Dion can be applied to my entire family.  Everyone in my immediate family has contributed something to causing me to become the person I am today.  I have learned so much from my family members, and I know that I owe the majority of goals I was able to accomplish to their assistance and support.  They have been there for me whenever I’ve felt poorly about myself, answered my questions about life, given me great advice, and have set me straight when I needed it.

We are Family by Sister Sledge is just more of an upbeat song that reminds me of family reunions.  I remember my younger cousins and I dancing to this when we were little and going absolutely crazy.
